BUT LORD I'M STILL SINGLE!!

I turned 30 just yesterday,

Had a party with my friends far away,

Hung over from the drinks on that day,

But Lord I'm still single.

Graduated years back with a 2:1- Excellent!

Dad said all his money was well spent!!

No man in my life yet, heavy heart,

But Lord I'm still single.

I work in a fine establishment,

Well paid and probably overrated,

Tush describes my house, understatement!

But Lord I'm still single.

Attended Amaka's wedding last week,

Dancing and smiling in my fine asoebi,

Then I saw Bose with an engagement ring,

But Lord I'm still single.

Remember Mary who talked to me,

Helped me leave an abusive "him"

She's now married with 2 kids,

But Lord I'm still single.

Momma called some minutes back, 

Asking when she'll meet Mr Right, 

It almost ended in a fight,

And Lord i'm still single.

So I took a minute to think,

Asking why it had to be me,

It seemed God had gone on leave,

Bcos Lord I'm still single.

Then He began to speak in clear thoughts,

Just Negodu your attitude you lost one,

I knew you even before you were born,

So you are still single for a good cause.

Then I remembered our school mate,

Who died in a crash last April,

Or Ada we lost at childbirth,

Yet I complain I'm still single.

*deep sigh*

Yes I know I'm still single,

Bcos I looked at it from one angle,

But i'm ready to smile and mingle,

Bcos the gift of life is enough cause to twinkle!!

*shines teeth*

This goes out to every young lady out there who is under pressure because she has reached the acclaimed "age". It will happen when the time is right. For now, be happy, work hard and let Mr Right find you SMILING!!
